Winner Viktor Hovland earns $1.296 million from the $7.2 million purse for his victory at the PGA Tour’s final event of 2020
By <a href="https://www.morningread.com/author/morning-read-staff-report">Morning Read staff report</a> Nov 30, 2020 </p> <p>Viktor Hovland earned $1.296 million for his victory Sunday at the $7.2 million <a href="https://www.morningread.com/mayakoba-golf-classic">Mayakoba Golf Classic</a>, the <a href="https://www.morningread.com/pga-tour">PGA Tour</a>'s final event of 2020.
Hovland sank a 10-foot birdie putt on the final hole at El Camaleon Golf Club in Playa del Carmen on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula to post a one-stroke victory. It was the second career victory in his 35th start for the 23-year-old Norwegian, who also won the 2019 Puerto Rico Open.
